Even if you’re not a huge fan of music, there’s no denying that there’s something relaxing and comforting about listening to our favorite songs. This feeling isn’t purely psychological as listening to a song of your choice causes the brain to release chemicals and hormones that strengthen the immune system. There are so many ways to boost our immune system: exercising, eating healthy and as mentioned earlier, listening to music. It sounds strange, but looking at images of diseases has the same effect. This was proven to be true during a study at the University of British Columbia where the white blood cells of the participants released the interleukin-6 protein after they were shown pictures of people sneezing.
